Every Friday we go drumming with our drumming teacher Dave.
We have learned lots of beats and even created some beats of our own!
One of the beats we have learned goes like this…
“Jabba jabba jembe, one time.”
Dave learned how to play the jembe drums when he lived in Ghana and The Congo.
He even helped to make some of his jembe drums with his friends there.
The top of the drums can be made using the skin from different animals like cows and goats. Each animal skin creates a different sound.
Dave also has other percussion instruments called maracas and shakers.
We have lots of fun playing the jembe drums.
