Throughout one week in June, our school comes alive as we celebrate our annual Arts and Activities Week. This special week gives our students the opportunity to step away from their normal classroom routines, explore new interests, develop new skills, and enjoy learning in a fun and active way.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated staff who generously share their expertise by leading a wide range of workshops and activities. Students have the opportunity to participate in drama, rugby, hockey, GAA, soccer, art, drumming, music, baking and many other creative and sporting activities throughout the week.
A special feature of the week is the involvement of our wonderful 6th class pupils, who take on leadership roles by helping to organise and lead a number of workshops for the younger classes. They show great responsibility, confidence, and enthusiasm and are excellent role models throughout the week. Their support is greatly appreciated by both staff and students.
A much-loved highlight of the week is our annual Arts Parade, a lifelong tradition in Holy Rosary. Each year, a new theme inspires every class to create imaginative and colourful art pieces, which they proudly showcase as they parade through the local community. The parade is a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and school spirit, and it provides an opportunity for our students to share their artistic talents with families, neighbours, and the wider community. It is a tradition that is eagerly anticipated by everyone and one that continues to create lasting memories year after year.
Arts and Activities Week is always a highlight of the school calendar. It encourages teamwork, creativity, confidence, leadership, and wellbeing while allowing students to discover new talents and strengthen friendships across year groups. The enthusiasm and participation of our students make the week a tremendous success.
