Sport

Here at Holy Rosary we promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of the child. The children participate in P.E class twice a week and wear their tracksuit to school on these days. The strands of the P.E curriculum are Athletics, Dance, Gymnastics, Games, Outdoor Adventure Activities and Aquatics.

Our wonderful facilities include a state of the art hall, large playing field, basketball court, playground, special surface yards and the track around the perimeter of the school grounds allow us to cater for the P.E curriculum.

Involvement in sport and recreation is beneficial for each child’s personal development. The school provides opportunities for pupils to participate in a wide variety of sporting activities including Gaelic football, hurling, basketball, tag rugby, rounders and athletics. Throughout the year, children have the opportunity to try cricket and rugby when external coaches come to the school. Some class groupings will access more specialised strands of the curriculum for a 6 week workshop.

There is a link between the school and St Annes Gaa club and they provide coaches to the school to help develop the children’s skills.
