Welcome Back
On behalf of the teachers and Board of Management we would like to welcome all our pupils back after the summer holidays. A special warm welcome to our new Junior Infants and any new pupils who have joined us. We hope you will be very happy in Holy Rosary Primary School.
Points to remember
- School starts at 9.20am and ends at 2pm for Junior and Senior Infants and at 3pm for all other students. All pupils should be on time. There is no supervision before 9.10am and pupils should not arrive before this time.
- Children should wear full school uniform on all days except PE days when they wear the school tracksuit.
- If a child is absent for any reason a note must be sent to the class teacher when the child returns.
- Only in exceptional circumstances should children be collected early from school. This must be recorded at the office and may be notified to the Department of Education.
- Please label all your child’s belongings as our “Lost & Found” box gets bigger every year!
- No dogs allowed on the school grounds.
- Smoking is illegal anywhere within the school grounds as it is a public building.
Online / EPayments
When money is due for any school activity that is relevant to your children, you will receive a text / email message saying that a New or Outstanding payment is due. Please open the link for full information about the payment.
The link will bring you to a parent payment page. There is only one link per family ensuring you have the option to pay all amounts due for all your children in one transaction. Once you have completed your payment, you will be issued with a reference number. This method of payment is completely optional and if you wish you can still pay by cash to the school office.
Please only contact the office if you have a query after opening the link.
Financial Contributions.
In Holy Rosary we have tried to keep our Book Bills as low as possible. As there is a shortfall in Department of Education grants we must however ask for a contribution towards art / photocopying etc. We are grateful for the many contributions which have been made already. However, we would like to remind parents that some contributions are still outstanding. We would ask parents to pay as soon as possible. If you are experiencing difficulty, please come and talk to us.
Contact Details
If you have changed address, phone numbers or email address recently please inform the school immediately. It is very important to have the correct mobile numbers for parents in case of an emergency. We also send information re payments, school closures and parents newsletters via text and / or email.
Office Administration
If you require letters for Visas, Child Benefit Office etc., you must give the office at least one weeks notice.
Pupil Personal Accident forms have been given out and the closing date to accept them is Friday, 28th September. If you paid the insurance online you must still send in the slip at the end of the form.
GAA Training
GAA training before school has now started for boys and girls from 3rd class up. This takes place at 8.40am until 9.10am in the mornings, weather permitting. Children must bring a change of socks, shoes and bottoms with them.

After School Classes
Afterschool Classes can now be booked on the school website www.holyrosaryps.ie. We would like to thank the Parents’ Association for all their hard work organising these classes. Don’t forget to look at our website for school news and photos!!
School Parking
Once again concerns have been raised about the way people are parking and stopping when bringing children to and from school.
These guidelines were introduced to
- Ensure the safety of all children
- Ensure that traffic continues to flow
- From 8am – 10am the area beside the field is set-down only. You cannot park or wait in this area.
- There are only a limited number of parking spaces on the school grounds, so we recommend you park on the road and walk into the school.
- If you do enter the carpark and cannot find a space you must exit again.
- You cannot double park or wait beside the set-down area or between rows of cars.
- You cannot park in the disabled spaces near the Church unless you have a Disabled Pass.
- You cannot park or enter the Staff Car Park as it involves crossing the walkway.
We look forward to your co-operation in these matters.
