This year our school choir took part in the very first South Dublin Libraries ‘Schools Christmas Song Contest’ in Tallaght Library. We were invited to take part in the song contest and we were only allowed to bring 10 children. After pulling 10 names from a Santa hat we earnestly began our rehearsals. We chose Ring Christmas Bells as our song. On the morning of December 1st the 10 children, Mr. Reilly, Ms. Giblin and Ms. Carthy excitedly set off for Tallaght Library. Holy Rosary were the last school to perform and we had the pleasure of listening to loads of fabulous choirs which made us very nervous! As the judges made their decision all of the choirs sang a few Christmas songs. Finally it was time for the results……..Holy Rosary got 1st place! There was a huge cheer from all the children, their parents and the teachers. The children each collected a prize. We are so proud of the 10 children who represented the school and the choir so well. The whole school choir will perform at this years Carol Service on Thursday 21st December in Holy Rosary Church at 2.15pm and 7.30pm. Everybody is welcome to come and hear our award winning choir!
