Arts & Activities Week

We are delighted to announce that we are holding our annual Arts & Activities Week again this year from 12th-16th June. As usual we have plenty of exciting activities planned to ensure an action-packed, fun-filled week. There will be face-painting, print workshops, bouncy castles, animation, tag-rugby, dance, cycling, hiking, talent-show, African drumming and fun athletics to name but a few activities.

Parade

Our Arts & Activities Week parade is back this year and will take place on Friday 16th June at 10:00am. Each class will dress up and create artwork in line with a theme and parade through Oldcourt, Ferncourt and Allenton estates. Please feel free to come and watch the parade, cheer us on and help us to have as much fun as possible. We are looking for parents to help us direct traffic and supervise the parade route in order to have a parade that is safe and fun for all. Please contact Kathleen McKiernan Home School Community Liaison 086 0276666 if you can help out.

Art Exhibition

As part of Arts & Activities Week we will be holding an art exhibition in conjunction with Images School Art. Over the past few weeks, the children have been busy creating their very own masterpieces which will be professionally framed and displayed in our pop-up gallery in the school hall. Parents are invited to come and view the exhibition on Tuesday 13th June from 1:45pm-3:15pm and from 7:00pm-8:00pm. There will be an opportunity at these times to purchase your children’s artwork and bring home a lifelong memento of their time in primary school. Prices are as follows:

One picture: €12

Two pictures €20

Three or more pictures €30

Hike Around Bohernabreena Reservoir

On Thursday 15th June, 4th and 6th Classes will go on a hike around the upper and lower reservoirs at Bohernabreena from 9.30am to 12:45pm. A bus will bring everyone from the school to the start point at the reservoirs and back again at the end. The walk is reasonably flat and should take about 2 hours to complete. We will have a picnic lunch at the end of the walk. Please ensure your child is adequately prepared for this walk with a small backpack, lunch, a large drink, sunscreen, raincoat and adequate walking boots/runners. We would be very grateful if some parents could come along and walk with us on the day to ensure a safe journey for everyone.
